Spiritual Wellness

I really did not enjoy the Loving Kindness exercise, but the Subtle Mind exercise was wonderful. I had the most blissful sensation of calm. This exercise made it easier to calm my mind, focusing on my breathing with the ocean waves in the background. The Loving Kindness exercise did not do this to me. It was not easy to calm my mind and the lady’s voice was annoying. Right off the bat this exercise was just not for me. I love the Subtle Mind exercise and plan on doing it again tomorrow.
Spiritual wellness is what keeps me grounded. There are times when I get too emotional or angry and I need a way to settle my thoughts and my blood pressure down. Some of the time I can calm myself down by self talk, but not always. Spiritual wellness is so connected to the mind and body. When I am upset or stressed and I have not tried to clear my mind and calm down my thoughts, I start feeling nauseous and can feel my heart racing. I really think that spiritual wellness and being able to have a subtle mind can really prevent stress from affecting you physically.

  1. I found that when I was relaxed and thinking about my breathing I found that when the lady talked I jumped a little because I was too focused on everything else. The loving kindness has come to grow on me listening to it everyday I have found that I can love myself more and I don't necessarily want to say but forgive those around me.

I must say as leery as I was when I first started taking this class I almost wish I would have taken it at the beginning of my schooling and not near the end. I have learned so much and because of that I feel that my education is much better.

  2. I have to agree with you I did not enjoy the love and kindness exercise as much at the subtle mind. I also did find the women voice a bit annoying. Self talk is great when we do it in a positive way. At times it can be hard when I am feeling negative. Stress really takes a toll on our bodies. I have been trying breathing exercises while I was sick and they really did help ease the pain to my surprise. I will be doing that more often.
